More Complaints About The Grand Tour And Its Plans To Film Near Chipping Norton

As we already know, The Grand Tour’s production company, Chump Productions, has put in plans to record the next season of tent/studio segments in Great Tew near Chipping Norton. The total time planned to stay there is 13 weeks – but the locals aren’t too happy with the decision.

They say it will be ‘detrimental’ to the community.

They’re worried about the effects the Grand Tour could have on their little town of Chipping Norton, in particular the traffic and noise levels produced by a film crew of 80+ and an audience of 350+.

The traffic in particular, they say could cause a fatal accident involving walkers, cyclists and horse-riders. One resident wrote a complaint to the West Oxfordshire Council saying, “This is a totally inappropriate use of a rural countryside estate location. People should not have to sacrifice their rural lifestyle in West Oxfordshire so that big business can make more money.”

Another wrote, “The Ledwell Road is already overloaded. When will [the council] recognise that this cannot continue, when one of the many local riders on horseback is killed? “

How do you feel about the complaints? Do you think they’re justified, and that a small town in the countryside should be left to its own devices? Or do you think they are just complaining for the sake of complaining? Let me know in the comments below.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
