This Thunderbird 2 Astra Is For Sale – And you Will Want It
The Vauxhall is a car. That’s all I can say about it. It’s a box with four wheels with an engine that makes said wheels go, and some sort of braking system that makes them stop.
It’s not a poster car, it’s more a car that you’re forced to drive because your company gave it to you instead of a car allowance. And they always smell. Either of a strong air-freshener, or wet dog. Or both.
This one however, is a little different. This Vauxhall has me counting the spare coins in my bank account because it is the physical embodiment of my childhood. I loved Thunderbird 2.
It’s a 2.0-litre diesel and it recently took part in the Monte Carlo or Bust Champagne Charlie Rally where it and its owners raised £30k for charity. Well done to them! But even more remarkable is its incredible body modifications. It’s designed to look like Thunderbird 2. Thrusters and all! And it gained the prize for best dressed at the rally I mentioned above. Surprised?
At the time of writing, the car’s at the 27th bid of £510. I don’t expect it to stay at this price forever as it is just so amazing – in cable tie and duck tape sort of way.
