Skyline RB26 Engine Back In Production By Nissan

When you think iconic engines, the Skyline’s RB26 will be very close to the top of many people’s lists. It’s durable, able to make plenty of power, and makes one of the nicest noises known to the motoring industry.

This legendary straight six has powered some of the greatest JDM cars of all time. The R32, R33 and R34 each had an RB heart, but now it’s possible to take this one step further.

Nissan has expanded their Heritage Parts list by another 24 parts, including everything that’s needed to put together the RB26 2.6-litre engine. Block, cylinder head, exhaust system, you name it, it’s available. And the price isn’t too bad, either. Looking at the price list, you’re looking at about £1,180 for the block and £1,300 for the head. In other words, my savings are gone.

It doesn’t stop there, though. Pay a little more and you can get a stronger block straight from the RB26DETT N1. So if high boost is your plan, maybe add a couple of thousand to your budget for that specific part. Alongside these additions, NISMO is producing replacement panels for the R23 including the rood and rear wings – good news for those wishing they’d tackled the rust when they first saw it.

Parts started delivery on April 1st, and for those of you wondering if this is a belated April Fool’s joke, it’s not. Nissan just know how to please their customers… we’re looking at you Toyota.
