Despite the recent uproar among the world of car manufacturing, the german company Porsche had a very good year in 2016. Actually, regarding their total revenue, 2016 was their best year ever. That is why they thought up a nice gift for their employees.
Porsche pays bonus of 9111 Euros to every employee
Due to the fact that Porsche managed to increase its total revenue by ten percent in 2016, they decided to pay each of their 21,000 employees a bonus of 9111€ – a nice reference to the Porsche 911. As the german newspaper Die Welt reports, their competitor Mercedes Benz only granted a bonus of 5400€.
However, regarding the excellent financial results Porsche reached in 2016, the bonus could have been even higher. However, Porsche itself is part of the Volkswagen group of companies. Therefore, it was forced to support Volkswagen financially with their endeavors regarding the Diesel-scandal.
In comparison to other parts of the Volkswagen group, Porsche’s bonus payment is still very generous. Volkswagen pays its employess only around half of Porsche’s bonus.
