Lexus Executive Talks the Possibilty of a Lexus LFA Successor
It is widely considered one of the best supercars ever made, even topping Jeremy Clarkson’s list of favorite cars. It’s the car that changed the perception of Lexus and Toyota from “bleh” to “Whoa there!” It’s the mighty LFA, and there could soon be a new one!
Speaking at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, Lexus Group Vice President and General Manager Jeff Bracken made some comments that should put a smile on all our faces, especially Jezza’s:
“We need more halo representation. We hear often from our dealers if we can have an LFA follow-up…I wouldn’t rule it out. I think that when we hear so many emotional and high number of requests for a follow-up to LFA, we certainly won’t ignore that. It’s not a closed door.”
Obviously, the existence of an LFA successor is nothing more than a thought right now, but hearing Bracken’s comments is definitely a good sign. Regarding the possibility of the LFA succesor actually coming to light, Bracken says:
“Just as the LF-LC concept came out in 2012, there was so much positive feedback from the media, public and dealers that we did make the decision to go ahead and build it. And we were able to make the production car (the LC) look very much like the concept.”
It sounds like Lexus is seriously considering returning to the supercar game! Someone get this news to Jeremy, stat! And hopefully, the successor doesn’t take a decade to develop this time around.
