Forza Horizon 4 Engine Sounds VS Real Life

Even if you’re a Gran Turismo fan, you have to admit that Forza has always been better at the audio. Forza’s car sounds have always been more realistic than the tinny, hollow and electronic sounding attempts that were given to the Sony Playstation. But how does the latest Forza game stack up against real life?

So as you can hear from the videos, they’re still way off from the real life sounds for most of the cars tested. There’s still a very digital effect occurring in the game, especially when the car is revved.

The BMW M4 suffers with this the most in our eyes with it sounding horribly digital and not matching up to its real life counterpart at all. The Audi TTRS is much better, with the digital changes in pitch taken our of the sound design. But there’s simply one thing that these games are failing to simulate.

A car’s engine and exhaust will always sound different depending on how it’s being driven. A car being revved with the engine under minimal stress will sound different to an engine pulling a car to 60.

How do you think Forza has done? Let us know in the comments below.
