Amazon And Drone Racing League From Partnership

The Drone Racing League (DRL) will be hosting their 2017 Allianz World Championship Race in London tomorrow (June 13th), and with the championship race will also come a new Grand Tour partnership.

At the race tomorrow, there will be a special Grand Tour commentator booth for special guest stars and also a Grand Tour branded “Grand Tour Finish Gate,” which will be modeled after The Grand Tour’s instantly recognizable tent featured on the show.

“As devoted fans of the Grand Tour we can’t think of a better entertainment partnership for DRL. The larger-than-life-personalities and epic stunts align perfectly with the insane skill of DRL pilots, our incredible 3D race courses and the drive to deliver the sport of the future to fans around the world,” said Nicholas Horbaczewski, DRL chief executive and founder.

In addition, Mike Benson, the director of marketing at Amazon Prime Video said: “Jeremy, James and Richard have made a career out of thinking up near-impossible stunts and making them a reality. This collaboration with the Drone Racing League, innovators and creators of this exciting new sport, is a natural fit.”

This will be the first professional drone race in London and will feature eight of the world’s top drone pilots competing for the title of the “World’s Greatest Drone Racer” and a chance at a professional contract with the DRL for the 2018 season.

The race will be broadcast on ESPN, Sky, Pro7Maxx, DisneyXD, OSN, and across 75 different countries.
