The Ford Bronco Will Make You Glad You’re American

Let’s face it, most of us Brits don’t understand the whole ‘owning a pickup’ thing. We get it if you own a farm or do a lot of off-road trekking, my partner’s father owns a pickup – he’s a chicken farmer and owns a tree surgery business. He uses it every day to its full potential. That makes sense.

But an ever-growing pattern of people buying pickups and 4x4s (referred to as Chelsea tractors in Britain) is very confusing. Why? I don’t think they look that great, they eat up fuel while not being overly fast, well, mostly, and they’re big and cumbersome. So why put yourself through that when you don’t need the capabilities these vehicles hold.

But since I’ve seen this rendering of the new Ford Bronco, I’ve suddenly changed my mind. Here it is:

A good looking auto, right?

Apparently it will be released in 2020 and will share bits and pieces with the Jeep Wrangler. But judging from past patterns, the Bronco will never reach the shores of the UK. Damn.

That’s not sarcasm – I really want this pickup. Although it should only have two doors! Don’t dilute the Bronco heritage, Ford! And please, please, bring a few to the UK?

Do you like it? Let me know in the comments below!

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
