What Are Richard Hammond’s Thoughts On The Uber Situation In London?

One of the more topical questions asked in the September 22nd Facebook Live interview was regarding the Uber ban in London, and what Hammond thought about it. For those that haven’t been keeping up with the news, on September 22nd, Uber’s operating license was denied renewal (UberEats is not affected).

As of September 30th, Uber is no longer licensed within London, but it may continue to operate until after the appeals process and all options have been exhuasted.

Transport for London informed Uber it “will not be issued with a private hire operator licence,” and that Uber was “not fit and proper” to operate in London. Now, what are Richard Hammond’s thoughts on the development?

“I’ll be honest, I’ve only just caught up with that news so I haven’t formed any thoughts yet. It’s a BIG development, I mean there’s a lot of people that are going to be involved in that. Some will be celebrating, some will be the mourning the loss of a means of cheap traonsport, so I don’t know.”

James helpfully replied with:

“Well that’s a bit rational.”
