Watch This Explosive Jeep With A 1400hp Turbo V8

This is something you certainly don’t see everyday.

I’ve never understood why you’d choose a car where it’s entire front end acts as a windbreak to drag race. It’s no secret that this 1976 Jeep is about as aerodynamic as the Golden Gate Bridge, but with 1400hp – who the hell cares?

This Jeep named ‘Jeepenstien’ is running an 88mm turbocharger on top of a 400 small block engine, and with a time of 7.96 seconds at 170.69mph on the quarter mile, this may be the fastest ever Jeep running a factory stock chassis. Can you imagine that? Going 170mph in a vehicle made to scrabble over loose dirt? Not exactly a quiet Sunday drive is it, but this car wasn’t meant to keep the peace.

Not only does it sound mean, but it looks mean too, with green halo LEDs around the headlights and a jet black paint job. At the rear it has a flat deck with an overhang to improve what aerodynamics it actually has. There’s no doubt if I saw this coming, I’d get out of the way.

You can follow the creators of this monster on Facebook here. This Jeep is definitely something you want to keep up with, especially as it’s much easier to keep up with it on social media as it is keeping up with it at the drag strip.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
