Top Gear Releases Trailer For Series 24

We’re only a few short weeks away from the Series 24 premiere of Top Gear. With last year’s refresh of the show stumbling, Series 24 gives us yet another refresh, this time with a condensed presenting team and no Chris Evans. In anticipation of the new series, Top Gear has released a brand new trailer for your viewing pleasure.

And you know what? It doesn’t look half bad! Sure it’ll be a while before Matt LeBlanc, Chris Harris, and Rory Reid ever reach the same level of chemistry as Jeremy, James, and Richard (if ever), but after last year’s debacle, pretty much anything is a marked improvement. A smaller, tighter team of three is a format we’re all familiar with, and while LeBlanc may not be bursting with enthusiasm, having Harris and Reid on the show full time is something that even the biggest cynics have to admit is somewhat appealing.

Check out the new trailer below:

Looks pretty cool, right? The trailer was short and sweet, but we caught glimpses of the Bugatti Chiron, Ford GT (in my favorite blue, no less!), Ferrari FXX K, Aston Martin DB11, Alfa Romeo Guilia Quadrifoglio, and Lamborghini Huracan Spyder. All that and Rory Reid complaining about his knob coming off (snicker).

Look, I know there are a lot of folks out there that are pretty salty about the fact that Top Gear didn’t just tuck tail and fold after the original trio left, and yes, Chris Evans squawking at our screens last year wasn’t the most pleasant experience. But the fact that Chris Harris and Rory Reid are now the centerpieces of the new presenting trio gives me plenty of hope. They’re extremely entertaining to watch and about as knowledgeable as it gets when it comes to cars.

All I’m saying is that I would rather have both The Grand Tour and Top Gear to watch throughout the year, and I would rather have both of them putting out as much quality material as possible. I don’t care that Jeremy, James, and Richard aren’t on Top Gear anymore; I just want TG to succeed and entertain me when the original boys aren’t on. In that, I wish them luck. Entertain me!
