In their recent interview on Twitch, the trio was questioned about where they would like to go film that they have never been before (see the question at approximately 19:40). Jeremy and his co-hosts responded to the question with a few obviously ridiculous locations such as the moon and the Mariana Trench before coming up with a few genuinely interesting ideas.

Jeremy led the answer saying that he would like to go film on the island of Borneo as well as within the Kamchatka Peninsula which is an area of eastern Russia.

In response to their answers, we wanted to have fun guessing  possible filming locations or challenges that we like to think they would use in The Grand Tour. We will focus on the breathtaking and amazingly beautiful island of Borneo. For those of you unfamiliar with the area, Borneo is an island in South East Asia which Google describes  as “ Borneo is a giant, rugged island in Southeast Asia’s Malay Archipelago, is shared by the Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak, Indonesian Kalimantan and the tiny nation of Brunei.” Sounds like a great place to film to us!

So without further ado, here is our list of the top 3 film ideas for ‘The Grand Tour: Borneo’.

Visiting The Sultan of Brunei

Being one of the richest men in the world, the Sultan of Brunei has a car collection of over 5,000 vehicles. It seems like it would be impossible for the trio to miss this amazing automotive collection. A true petrol-head’s dream come true.

Completing the Borneo Safari International Off Road Challenge

A grueling test of off-road driving prowess and endurance, the challenge takes place over 8 days with over 200 convoy vehicles. The vehicles soldier through the extreme jungles of Sabah, and it is one of the largest 4WD expeditions in South East Asia. A challenge which is truly Grand Tour worthy.

Race to the Tip of Borneo

You can picture it now, can’t you? Jeremy is some ridiculously overpowered boat. James is perhaps in a Rolls Royce. And Hammond is in some sort of off-roader. All three in a desperate race to best one another by making it to the scenic tip of Borneo before their co-hosts. Sounds like a classic challenge to me.

What do you think of our choices? Do they sound like Grand Tour hits, or flops? Where would you like to see The Grand Tour film? Let us know your best ideas or what you thought of ours in the comments!

Or they’ll take their tent there, a place with lots of possibilities for good films and segments, and show stuff they filmed in other places like they’ve done for the entire season.

I challenge the terrible trio to:
    1. Buy an old car at the sales that take place in a car park in Auckland, New Zealand (travellers buy there in lieu of hiring a car then sell them again at the end of their trip)
    2. Drive South to the adventure centre of Queenstown
    3. Drive from Queenstown to the Cardrona valley: this involves the steepest and longest hill I have ever experienced
    4. Sell the cars at the similar cakes in a car lark in Christchurch

    Great ideas!
Cars: The current rage in my barbershop is the making of “Rat Rods;” whipping up a hot rod from salvaged bits of cars and whatnot. Kind of what the guys build anyway but with a tetanus shot prerequisite. My barber says its not a true rat rod unless one can make it under 5 grand. You may want look into rat rods. They are visually stunning and make a huge amount of theater on the road or track.
As for location: I don’t know how Kamchatka or any Russian location would go over right now. May I suggest part or all of the old Silk Road?
