Premiere Episode of The Grand Tour Almost Broke Rotten Tomatoes

A post recently submitted on The Grand Tour Sub-Reddit by user ‘rogerizzy’ reveals that the show’s premiere episode was so good it might have broken the review system at Rotten Tomatoes.

Rogerizzy posted the following screenshot which shows The Grand Tour having over a 100% on the site (see above photo) which creates ratings based on both user and critic scores. The ratings have recently been adjusted to the following:

According to some users, the show was up to an even more staggering 120% after its initial premiere, no doubt due to the enthusiasm of so many diehard fans. The shows Rotten Tomatoes rating has since lowered slightly to a more realistic 94%, obviously dipping below a perfect 100% score because of a few minor reviews from like-minded individuals.

The Grand Tour has been widely touted as a near perfect automotive show, possibly the best show of its kind, even with only has one episode currently available to stream through Amazon Prime Video. Many have called the show an inevitable replacement for the BBC’s Top Gear, which as most of you know was the original show that the boys had spent so many years hosting and evolving, and the show on which they all made their way to fame. We can’t disagree with the shows early score, it was an amazing first episode, and we can’t wait to see more!

What did you think about the show? Are the initial scores and the current score where you think they should be? Let us know in the comments!

  2. I saw the first episode and I think that they are even better than they were on Top gear and as for the new Top gear the name should be changed to Missed Gear. Long live The grand tour top gear is dead.

  3. Would never have gave it anymore than 90%, some sequences were bordering pure intempt stupidity, but I am hopeful things will improve, saying that it’s still the best car programme on earth, due to the hosts.
